In celebration of CU Kind Day, North Star Credit Union is bringing its Membership Takes You Places theme into the community by recognizing the people and organizations who help make Northern Minnesota a better place.

This fall, North Star Credit Union will select three recipients to receive $500 each, for a total of $1,500 in community giving.

We’re inviting our communities to help us recognize the people and organizations who are finding their way, serving as a North Star for others and helping people throughout our communities find their way.

Nominations must be submitted by October 8, 2026, to be considered.

Who is your North Star?

Who helped you find your way when you weren’t sure where you were going?

And who do you know who could use a little help finding theirs?

Sometimes finding your way starts with one person who believes in you. Sometimes it takes a community. And sometimes, a little support can help someone take the next step.

Through this CU Kind Day initiative, we want to celebrate those stories.

$1,500. Three stories. Three acts of kindness.

1. Finding Their Way

Nominate someone who is working toward a goal, navigating a change, pursuing a new opportunity or trying to move their life in a positive direction.

Maybe they’re going back to school, beginning a new career, working toward greater independence, rebuilding after a difficult season or simply taking an important next step.

One recipient will receive $500 to help them continue moving forward.

2. Who Is Your North Star?

We all have people who help point us in the right direction.

Nominate someone who has helped others find their way. It could be a teacher, coach, mentor, volunteer, friend, neighbor or community member who guides, encourages, supports and believes in the people around them.

One recipient will receive $500 in recognition of the difference they make.

3. Helping Others Find Their Way

Across Northern Minnesota, organizations and community groups are working every day to help people overcome barriers, discover opportunities and build brighter futures.

Nominate a local nonprofit, school program, community group or organization that is helping people throughout our communities move forward.

One organization will receive $500 to support its work.

Credit unions were built on the philosophy of people helping people, and CU Kind Day gives us another opportunity to put that philosophy into action.

At North Star Credit Union, we believe membership can take you places — but we also know the journey is better when people help one another along the way.

This CU Kind Day, help us recognize the people and organizations creating brighter paths throughout Northern Minnesota.

Submit your nomination by October 8, 2026.

Winners will be chosen from the nominations and will be announced the week of October 12, 2026. North Star Credit Union has the right to modify this promotion at any time.
