The North Star Credit Union announced the opening of a new branch in Mountain Iron in 2023.

“We are excited to expand our credit union to provide services in the Quad Cities region,” said Jennifer Stedt, Executive Vice President of North Star Credit Union. “We are looking forward to serving the area and being a part of the community.”

North Star Credit Union purchased the former Perkins building in Mountain Iron, located off Highway 169. Plans are underway to renovate the building and make it a branch with drive-thru services.

“The City of Mountain Iron has been very welcoming, and we cannot thank everyone enough for all the support of our credit union,” said Stedt. “Having a location in Mountain Iron will provide our credit union a wonderful location where we can serve the region.”

Last week, North Star Credit Union celebrated the opening of its Virginia branch, which is located inside Super One Foods off Highway 53.

The event featured a ribbon cutting with the Laurentian Chamber of Commerce, a free hot dog lunch served by the Iron Range Strikers, a youth soccer team, and chances inside the Cash Cube.

“The support we have received from the city and the region has been wonderful,” said Stedt.

North Star Credit Union has branches in Cook, Nashwauk, Brooks, Virginia, and West Duluth.
