Food Share Month Food Drive – March 2024
This promotion has ended
North Star Credit Union’s theme for the month of March is nourishing our communities. This will be done by supporting local causes that work toward helping feed our community. We want to fight hunger together.
Being that March is Food Share Month, donations go further for local food shelves that are participating in the campaign as they receive partial match of what is donated.
Starting on March 11, our branches in Cook, Duluth, Mountain Iron, and Nashwauk will be accepting nonperishable food and money donations for area food shelves.
All the food and money raised will go to local food shelves to assist those in this area who are hungry.
Donations will be accepted through March 29.
For each item that you donate, you will receive an entry for a YETI lunch pail, a YETI slim can holder, and a $100 grocery gift card to a grocery store of your choice within in our service area. Value: $210. The hope is to feed the community and support causes that help feed one another.
If a certificate is not available a VISA gift card will be issued.
So, if you bring in 20 items you will receive 20 entries. You will receive one entry for every $5 in cash donation. Items donated are not equated to cash.
There will be slips for name and phone number at each branch. Give to the Member Service Representatives (MSRs). MSRs will ask how many items you are donating and this will be written on the slip and placed in the box. All entries will be entered into an excel sheet for a random drawing.
North Star Credit Union is also hosting an internal contest for staff. The winner will have their choice of two tickets to the sold-out Flavor of the North event through the United Way of Northeastern Minnesota or the Taste of Fitgers event at Fitgers in Duluth.
Flavor of the North is on April 25 at the Range Recreation Civic Center. This event supports United Way’s Buddy Backpacks program that feeds children in need.
Taste of Fitgers is on March 29 at Fitgers in Duluth. This event supports Second Harvest Northland.
The winner will be chosen randomly.
