Mountain Iron, Minnesota – North Star Credit Union (NSCU) will be opening its newest branch in Mountain Iron on Monday, December 4.
“We are looking forward to being a part of this community,” said Jennifer Stedt, CEO of NSCU. “The support we have received from the region has been wonderful.”
The Mountain Iron branch is located at 8586 Rock Ridge Drive, Mountain Iron. It is located off Highway 169 in the former Perkins building.
NSCU has been serving the region since 1939. It started in Cook and has branches inside Super One Foods in Virginia, which opened a year ago in May, as well locations in west Duluth, Nashwauk, and Brooks.
The Mountain Iron branch will offer the same products and services that it provides at its other locations including consumer lending, mortgage loans, business banking, financial education for area schools and the community, kid’s accounts, IRAs, and CDs.
It also has online and mobile banking, same day debit card replacement in branch, six free financial education sessions annually for members, WINcentive savings accounts, remote deposit checking, and so much more.
“We as a credit union are member owned and are there to meet the needs of the community,” said Stedt. “We return profits to our members in the form of lower fees and better rates.”
The credit union will be celebrating with an open house from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. January 30 featuring giveaways, food, photos with Star, prizes for kids, and a noon ribbon cutting with the Laurentian Chamber of Commerce.
It will be hosting the Laurentian Chamber of Commerce’s Breakfast Connections at 7:45 a.m. on February 14, at its new branch. We will also be featuring coffee and treats from local businesses periodically starting in January.
“We cannot wait to become more involved in this area,” said Stedt. “We welcome everyone to stop in and check out our branch and meet our employees.”
