Duluth Branch Supports Local with Celebration

North Star Credit Union’s Duluth branch has relocated and will be celebrating August 24

DULUTH – The North Star Credit Union’s (NSCU’s) Duluth branch has relocated to a new building in west Duluth.

The Duluth branch is now open at 4918 Grand Avenue for all of the region’s banking needs.

The new building features a parking lot, a drive-thru, and an overnight deposit to better serve the community with its banking needs.

“Our members have been so excited about our new branch,” said Lynn LaFlair, loan officer for the Duluth branch, who has been in the banking industry since 2005. “We love this area, so we are thrilled to continue to serve the community.”

The credit union provides loans including consumer (i.e. recreation, consolidation, vehicle) and mortgages, online/mobile banking, in addition to all the other products and services of a full service financial institution.

To celebrate, NSCU is hosting a Celebration and Ribbon Cutting from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. August 24 at its new location.

“We hope that the community will come celebrate with us,” said Courtney Brewer, Sr. MSR and Jr. Underwriter. “Even if you do not bank with the credit union, we hope that you will join us that day for food, prizes, and fun.”

The event will feature a local northeastern Minnesota food truck, Log Home Wood Fired Pizza, with free pizza lunch on the credit union for the first 50 people. Additional pizzas will be available for purchase.

University of Minnesota-Duluth’s Champ will be in attendance and will join Star the Yeti, NSCU’s mascot.

There will be a photo booth for taking pictures with Star and a gumball machine where each kid will win a prize.

Kids will also have a chance for bigger prizes including gift cards, all purchased locally in the Duluth area, to Sky Zone Trampoline Park, Children’s Museum, Great Lakes Aquarium, North Shore Train Ride, Adventure Zone, Skyline Social & Games, Candy Store, and Ice Cream Shop.

Adults also have a chance to win local certificates including to The West Theatre, Pebble Spa, Bloom Wilder Florist, Baileys Builds, Vikre Distillery, Duluth Cider, Clyde Iron Works, Corktown Deli & Brews, and Mr. D’s Bar & Grill.

In addition to the prizes the day of the event, the credit union is also running a promotion for the month of August for five more local prizes.

Attendees to the event receive 10 entries!
1) A $1,000 Odyssey Gift Card for a North Shore Getaway (must be 21 to claim this prize)
2) A $500 Menards Gift Card
3) Blackstone Grill and Adolph store gift certificate
4) A $250 Super One Gift Card

“We are proud of being able to support local in this celebration and at our Duluth branch,” said Jennifer Stedt, CEO for NSCU. “Our investment in the communities we serve is an integral part of who we are as a credit union.”
